In
Taita Hills, the people go to the 'river', swamp to collect their water
for the day. This water is contaminated and causes many types of
sickness and disease. Because of the poverty, some of the people cannot
even afford the fuel to boil the water before drinking it. The
collection of water also uses up much of their day. Some
of the water source is travelled over by the animals and the people
and sanitation is impossible due to lack of money and resources to boil
the water. |
