Gardens Galore!
Would you believe that we now have 48 gardens prepared with Organics4Orphans we are also thrilled to announce that one of our teachers will be taking a course to enable him to teach gardeing curriculum and care for the gardens once they begin to produce.
Fire tunnels
The team just finished their last church service in Bura and had fire tunnels to bless all the incredible people! They had a quick lunch and are headed into the heart of the village for a crusade!
Food for thought
It just occurred to me that all of you who are giving out hallween treats over there in Canada, will spend more on candy this weekend, then most of the people here will earn in 2 weeks.

Work to do
Dickson had a work team in place, including many of the students as well as a carpenter, and others. They were able to put all the gutters up around the house and I think start on the gutters at the orphanage. They also got the water tanks in place and ready to fill. The water filtration with the UV light is in place now as well, so now the water going into the orphanage will be purified. Yeah and hip hip hooray!! Continue reading »
Soccer game
Soccer game in the village today; sadly Heartbeat team lost 1-0, but oh so close. The team were able to present the rest of the sport jerseys to the village (graciously donated by Cole Harbour), and fun was had by all. Back to the house for a bucket shower; at least there is water!!!! Thanks God!!
Water
I’m getting pretty good at bathing in 4 litres of water……..Our source of tap water is currently dry and we are bringing water into the house in buckets.

Update from Kenya
“No one ever said I was living an easy life here! I’m not here because of me. Haven’t showered in 3 days because we have no water, and the kids from the orphanage are washing with swamp water. SOS.. someone wanna drill a well? NO WATER.”
SO IF ANYONE WANTS TO HELP OUT, GIVE US A CALL OR SEND A MESSAGE. Those precious children are washing in swamp water and their drinking water is rationed! Also please pray for rain!!
