Heartbeat Farm

The centre of Heartbeat

At the core of Heartbeat projects, is Heartbeat farm. Here is where it started, with the mission to feed the hungry. We have now transformed into an experimental farm, where we can grow crops year round to sell in order to be self sufficient, supplement the children’s rice and beans at the Father’s Heart Primary School, and provide jobs to local Kenyans.

Farm Animals

Heartbeat houses many animals on the farm, such as chickens, cows and fish! The chickens are primarily laying hens. The cows are for milking. We use the milk and eggs to supplement the children’s breakfasts at the Fathers Heart Pre-Primary School.

Bee Keeping

We began a bee keeping program for the elders of the community in Bura who have been helpful and supportive to Heartbeat. We successfully set up a structure sufficient to house more than 10 beehives. One hive can reap a harvest of 10 kgs of honey!
